Tree Orchids and Grass Orchids from the Sunday Class

In June we tackled both Tree Orchids and Grass Orchids. Both appear in Chinese paintings – both ancient and modern. As you will know, the grass orchid is one of the 4 gentlemen.

People used P34 – thick icy xuan and papers they had with them.

P34 – thick icy xuan is a sized paper. The paper seemed to reduce the tones of the ink a lot—which is worth remembering if you are planning to use it but the results were interesting.
